East Elementary is Sheldon Community School District's public elementary education facility located at 501 Normal College Avenue, Sheldon, Iowa. East Elementary was built in the 1950's with another addition comprised of classrooms, offices, and a library added in the early 1990's. East Elementary provides quality education for grades Kindergarten through Fourth. The school is comprised of around 350-400 students and about 50 staff members. Students are involved in programs such as Accelerated Reader and Success Maker - a computer based educational program, as well as a wonderful volunteer program where high school students and local citizens come into the school and help with the children's education.
